American Idol Holding Auditions In Asheville, NC August 27

The popular singing competition television series American Idol will soon be looking for new talent to showcase from across the country, and one stop talent scouts will be making is in Asheville, North Carolina, on August 27.

So how do you try out to be the country's next big star?

1. Find out if you're eligible to audition. By June 11, 2017, you must be 15 to 28 years old—that means you had to have been born between June 12, 1988 and June 11, 2002. You must also be a legal resident of the United States with the unrestricted right to work throughout all of the show's filming locations. For a list of all requirements, read the list here.

2. Register to audition by going to the show's website. If you have met all the eligibility requirements, you can audition in person, as usual, or online. In person auditions will be held across the country from August 17 until September 14. On August 27, the show will be stopping in Asheville, North Carolina, and on August 30, they will be in Louisville, Kentucky
