Appalachian Bear Fest offers family fun, guided hike

TOWNSEND, Tenn. - The Appalachian Bear Fest is back for a second year to provide fun for the whole family.

The Second Annual Appalachian Bear Fest will be held Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will offer live music, wildlife booths, artists, a kids’ area, a petting zoo, a special appearance by Charles the Pig and the American Eagle Foundation.

Live music will be provided by Pistol Creek Catch of the Day, Mike Clemmer on the Dulcimer, Jared Hard and Chris Long. The festival will also offer a guided backcountry hike. The hike requires pre-registration.

  • Chris Long 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Mike Clemmer on the Dulcimer 11:40 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.
  • Storytelling by Mike Maples 12:20 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.
  • Jared Hard 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Pistol Creek 1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
