Praised by The Strad for possessing “maturity beyond its members’ years,” the internationally-acclaimed Attacca Quartet is one of the most dynamic ensembles of their generation.

Now in its 15th season, the Attacca Quartet has become one of America's premiere young performing ensembles. They were formed at the Juilliard School in 2003, and made their professional debut in 2007 as part of the Artists International Winners Series in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. From 2011-2013 they served as the Juilliard Graduate Resident String Quartet, and for the 2014-2015 Season the Attacca Quartet was named the Quartet in Residence for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The Quartet will perform music by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Caroline Shaw, the youngest recipient for the Pulitzer Prize in Music. The artists will give a pre-concert lecture at 3:30 p.m. in the Pollard Auditorium.

General admission is $25; a discounted young adult ticket (ages 19-29) is available for $10. Seating is limited for this performance; advance reservations are recommended. Tickets are available at www.ORCMA.org or by calling 865-483-5569.

Patrons are invited to attend a dinner immediately following the concert. Catered by Birdwell Catering, the menu will feature grilled chicken breast with white wine and mushroom gravy, sliced pork tenderloin with caramelized onion gravy, rice pilaf, seasonal vegetables, and cheesecake. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages are included. Tickets for the dinner are $50 for reservations made by November 10; $55 for late reservations.
