Bikes and Blooms comes to Knoxville this weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Get out your bike riding gear this coming Earth Day because Dogwood Arts has partnered with DreamBikes to bring their Bikes & Blooms program.

The event, which is free requires no registration, will be held on April 22 at 3 p.m. and on May 6 at 3 p.m.. You along with friends and family can discover biking routes through scenic neighborhoods and on local greenways. Riders must wear helmets and understand on-road riding. The event is recommended for ages eight and older.

With Bikes & Blooms, rides are about eight miles long, and those attending are encouraged to wear comfortable and bring water and snacks.

The first ride, on April 22, will begin at DreamBikes at 309 N. Central Street and will take riders through 4th and Gill, Old North and other historic neighborhoods before returning back to DreamBikes.

The second ride, held on May 6, will begin at Suttree Landing Park, located at 701 Langford Avenue, and will take riders through South Knoxville and through areas like Ijams Nature Center.
