British car show coming to East Tennessee

"The Return of the British"
car show is coming back to East Tennessee.

The Historic Rugby, a restored Victorian Village, is set to host the event for the eighth year on August 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is free to spectators. Vehicles can be entered for a fee of $10. The proceeds go to supporting the Historic Rugby. Vehicles will be judged and awarded.

Car brands that will be shown include Austin-Healey, Jaguar, MG and others.

The car show also offers an English tea table setting contest and takes place at the Uffington House, where participants will compete to show off their tea setting skills. Those interested can register here. It is $10.

The organization will also offer guided tours of the area and restored buildings. A park ranger will lead a guided hike at 1:15 p.m. to the nearby Gentlemen's Swimming Hole and later return.


Rugby is located off of State Scenic Highway 52, 16 miles southeast of Jamestown. The address is 5517 Rugby Highway.
