Burn ban lifted in Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Pittman Center, and Sevier County
Due to recent rainfall and increased humidity levels, the burn ban implemented last week by Sevier County, the Cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and the Town of Pittman Center is lifted immediately (Monday, March 17).
With the lifting of the burn ban, recreational burning, including fire pits, campfires, and charcoal grills, is now permitted. For updates on burn permits, please visit www.burnsafetn.org or contact your local fire department.
The rainfall received over the weekend, combined with improved weather conditions, has helped reduce the high fire risk that was affecting all areas of Sevier County last week. Residents and visitors are encouraged to remain vigilant and prepared for potential fire events by:
- Creating defensible space around homes, businesses, and recreational areas.
- Having an emergency kit ready with essentials like water, non-perishable food, and medications.
