Crossville dog park named for fallen K9 officer gets $25,000 donation

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - A Crossville dog park named in honor of a fallen K9 officer received a $25,000 donation for upgrades Tuesday.

The Boyd Foundation handing a check to the city of Crossville Tuesday. The money will be used for new equipment at the K9 Officer Cain Memorial Dog Park. Cain was a member of the Crossville Police Department and died almost one year ago while chasing a suspect.

Crossville City Manager Greg Wood was complimentary of the donation at Tuesday's ceremony.

"I come from a military background and a lot of times people, they remember right when it happens but so often those things are forgotten",
Wood said.
"And i don't want Cain or any of our officers to be forgotten".

The upgrades include agility equipment at both sides of park and new drinking fountains for the dogs.
