DreamBikes helps kids get bikes for free in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - DreamBikes, a full service, non-profit bike shop, did their part Sunday afternoon to get every kid on a bike seat.

Sunday afternoon DreamBikes set up at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church collecting lightly-used bikes. Both kids and adult bikes were accepted and all donations were tax deductible.

The bikes are then given to DreamBikes where they will be refurbished and donated to a local teen who has earned them through the Kids Loves Bikes program.

"We're so excited to work with the community to help more kids and adults riding bikes,"

said Mitchell Connell, DreamBikes' assistant manager.

"Our goal is to create a riding community in Knoxville that's diverse, inclusive, and fun. By donating a bike to our program, you're contributing to our mission."

DreamBikes will collect lightly used bikes again next Sunday, June 17, at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church.
