East TN Scouts 7th in country for female Cub Scouts registrations

After the Boy Scouts of America agreed to begin accepting girls in its Cub Scouts level earlier this year, East Tennessee ranks seventh in female registrations in the country.

The Great Smoky Mountain Council, centered around the Knoxville area, has had 833 female registrations to join Cub Scouts.

This total is ahead of larger metropolitan areas like Tampa, Nashville, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City.

Leading the list was the Dallas area, with 2,537 female registrants.
