KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Five days after New Year's resolutions were made, Girl Scout cookie sales are here to make you forget them.

Be on the lookout for the Girls Scouts of Southern Appalachians, they're usually setup near grocery stores around the area. The classics like Thin Mints, Trefoils or Samoas are available, or get adventurous with cookies like S'mores or Savannah Smiles.

The cookies go way back, to 1917 when the first known sale was made in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The Girl Scouts said it's now the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world. It will help more than a million Girl Scouts sell hundreds of millions of boxes to earn money, and teaches them essential life skills.

The Girl Scouts will be out selling cookies until March 25.
