Grace Christian Academy held its annual storytelling competition and WVLT News Anchors Ted Hall and Amanda Hara, along with their 6:00 p.m. producer Doug Johnson, were honored to serve as judges.

Twelve students from third to sixth grade competed on stage Friday afternoon in front of a packed auditorium full of classmates, parents, and teachers.

Each storytelling competitor spent several months learning their assigned stories and practicing their routines.

They were judged based on their ability to convey the characters in their story, annunciation, gesticulation, and memorization.

Three contestants from each grade level were awarded first, second, and third place.

Among the winning routines: a little girl who shared a story of a bunny rabbit being chased by 'creep carrots' and a young girl who portrayed the dilemmas of an apple pie fairy, among others.
