Great Smoky Mountains National Park facilities closed due to weather

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Facilities at Great Smoky Mountains National Park closed Wednesday due to inclement weather, according to park officials.

Sugarlands Visitor Center, Oconaluftee Visitor Center, Park Headquarters and all administrative offices were closed. Most park roads were also closed except for the following: Newfound Gap Rd. from Gatlinburg to Sugarlands Visitor Center, the Spur between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and Newfound Gap Rd. from Cherokee to Smokemont Campground.

The park said all facilities were closed and travel was not recommended.
