PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville native Chris Blue, winner of The Voice season 12, is on stage at the Smoky Mountain Opry this holiday season.

The entertainer performs a number of songs through the magical journey from holiday favorites, a trip to Santa's workshop and a live nativity. Blue says he used to visit the Opry as a kid and never imagined that one day his dream of singing on stage would come true.

This season he's excited to share his favorite Christmas songs with families, and hopes to give a special message of family and love.

"The most important element I would like people to take, the fact that we are here celebrating the birth of Christ. That's why we do what we do, that's why I do what I do, because of God,"
said Blue.
"Family is important, family is big, and the birth of our Lord and Savior, that's big, that's beyond."

Owners of the Opry say they've worked with him to make sure his selections were perfect and fit them into the show.

"Chris actually grew up in Knoxville and so as much as he's traveling around the world, it's also important for him that the home base that supported him, that drew him to the top of the Voice that he's here for them,"
said David Fee, Owner Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment.
"We have almost 100 shows here, 8 of them are already sold out. Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry Staring Chris Blue."

The show runs through January 5th with select show times. You can call the box office to reserve your tickets at (865) 428-7469.
