KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Starting this week, Knoxville residents who want to operate an AirBNB can apply for a permit from the city of Knoxville.
The city adopted new short-term rental ordinances in November. Now, hosts have to acquire a permit and business license to rent their home through AirBNB.
The city says they'll offer training and question-and-answer sessions for AirBNB hosts later this month to make sure they're complying with the new ordinance. Those sessions are on January 9 at 5:30 p.m. and January 19 at 11 a.m. in the Small Assembly Room at the City County Building.
