A man and his girlfriend face charges in a Saturday evening shooting in Anderson County that sent two victims to the hospital, according to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

Jacob Lynn Rutherford, 23, of Oak Ridge, was charged with three counts of attempted murder. His girlfriend, Maggie Taylor Atteberry, 24, of Clinton, was charged with accessory after the fact.

Deputies responded about 5:24 p.m. Saturday to a report of a person shot at the Bread Box Market on Edgemoor Road in Claxton.

Deputies found 36-year-old Nathan Lynn Phillips, of Clinton, with gunshot wounds, according to an Anderson County Sheriff's Office news release.

A person was driving Phillips to the hospital but stopped at a store to call for an ambulance, which took Phillips to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Phillips' wounds were more serious than initially thought, and he remained at the hospital Sunday afternoon, according to the release.

Deputies learned the shooting actually took place at a home on Clinton Highway. Deputies went there and found resident William Ernest Foster, 34, also had been shot. He was taken to the UT Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Rutherford is accused of shooting Phillips and Foster and also of trying to shoot at a third person but missing, according to the release.

"There were four others present at the home at the time of the shootings and additional charges are forthcoming against Rutherford,"
the release reads.

Rutherford remained Sunday at the Anderson County jail pending bond being set at his arraignment. Atteberry was released on bond.
