KNOXVILLE, TN – Marble City Opera presents “Winterreise” by Franz Schubert, preformed by tenor Blayne Ziegenfuss and accompanies by Grace McMullen on piano 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6-7 at the Trentham Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church in downtown Knoxville and via online streaming.

Presented as a monodrama, it is under the direction of Kathryn Frady. Complete with staging and visually stunning projections, “Winterreise” is a song cycle written by Franz Schubert. Originally based on a collection of 24 poems by the German lyric poet Wilhelm Müller, it tells a lone wanderer who finds both love and betrayal along a winding and fantastic journey.

Seating will be limited based on the up-to-date city COVID-19 guidelines regarding social distancing and indoor events.

Tickets are $30 to steam the event or $40 for an in-person ticket.
