USDA: Pigeon Forge company recalls jerky products

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. A company in Pigeon Forge has recalled its chicken jerky products due to a potential processing error, the United States Department of Agriculture said.

The recall covers 23 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken jerky products. According to the USDA, a processing deviation may have led to the products being under-processed.

The items were produced from Sept. 6 through Sept. 26.

The products recalled are:

  • 2.5-oz. clear plastic packages containing "Jerky Boyz Chicken Jerky Buffalo Wing" with lot code 81101
  • 2.5-oz. clear plastic packages containing "Jerky Boyz Chicken Jerky Kickin' Pepper" with lot code 81101

The USDA said no confirmed reports of illness have been discovered as of yet.

Consumers are urged to throw away the products or return them to the place of purchase.
