Sevierville Police to offer self-defense class for women

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - The Sevierville Police Department is hosting a class to help women defend themselves.

The 9-hour Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class will be held Feb. 1, 8 and 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Participants must attend every class and no make-up classes will be available.

The first class will be at the police department and the rest will be held at the Sevierville Civic Center.

The class is free and open to only 15 participants.

The department hopes to teach women self-defense skills.
