SHILOH, TN – Shiloh National Military Park will host its first BioBlitz program 7 a.m. Oct. 18-19. A BioBlitz invites nature enthusiasts to participate in identifying and inventorying plants, animals and other living things through photography and audio.

All observations will be recorded and documented through the online database and website www.inaturalist.org. Through iNaturalist, anyone can upload pictures and sound bites to the project and others can identify the species.

Observations will be taken along all monument trails, paved roads, fields, and the Tennessee River.

If you are interested in participating in the BioBlitz, register your spot by calling the Shiloh Battlefield Education Center at 731-689-0015.

Participants should plan to meet each day at 7 a.m. at the Shiloh Education Center. Specific instructions on how to record and upload photographs into the site, maps of trail routes, and safety precautions will be given during both days before the observations commence.
