PIGEON FORGE, TN – The unique entertainment experience of the Smoky Mountain Opry, which debuts for its ninth season on Friday, Feb. 28, showcases elements of Broadway and the big screen with singing and dancing.

The live variety show combines music and dance from gospel to traditional and modern country, rock ‘n’ roll and movie soundtracks, taking guests on a nostalgic journey. Elements in this year’s production include a thrilling opening sequence, fancy footwork and vocals that will get toes tapping, and many more magical moments.

After a trip to the movies, the audience will take a deep musical dive into the decades with hits from the great American jukebox. Songs from the 1960s through today will have the crowd ready to sing and dance. Gospel favorites will leave the audience inspired and awed, while the finale pays tribute to America’s veterans with a patriotic salute.

High energy dancing, spectacular lighting and special visual effects, dazzling costumes and a talented cast of musicians round out the show.

Smoky Mountain Opry’s 2020 production and its new selection of musical numbers will show why it’s the most attended musical variety show in the Smokies.

This year’s Smoky Mountain Opry performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday with Wednesday matinees at 3 p.m. throughout the regular operating season. The holiday show will begin Thursday, Nov. 5.
