TBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Sevier County

An early Sunday morning shooting involving Sevier County Sheriff's Office deputies at a home in Kodak is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Sevier County deputies responded to a home on Joyce Way early Sunday after receiving a call from a woman saying her husband was threatening to harm himself, a TBI news release states.

arrival, a confrontation occurred which led to deputies firing shots and striking the man, identified by the TBI as 41-year-old Timothy McGill.

McGill was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he remained Sunday afternoon.

No deputies were injured.

TBI special agents are interviewing witnesses and collecting information. The investigation continues.
