RHSC is a health care non-profit that operates community health centers that provides affordable, accessible patient-focused primary health care to residents of Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington Counties. Including this grant, RHSC will be receiving a total of $4,253,285 from HHS.

Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development approved a grant of $500,000 to Rural Heath Services Consortium, Inc. (RHSC):

“America’s rural health care system can and should leverage the technology we have today to expand access to more people. This grant will help RHSC expand their reach those into communities with limited access to care because of location. Thanks to this award, there will be interactive video equipment installed in 17 rural communities serving around 3,300 patients. I look forward to seeing this innovative system better the lives of those living in rural East Tennessee.”
