Video shows UT police officer praying with man

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An emotional video posted to Facebook shows a police officer with the University of Tennessee taking the time to pray with a man.

The video shared by Winston Burbage in the group Seymour Speaks Out! (An SSO affiliate) captured UTPD's Corporal Humble bowing his head and putting his hand on a man's shoulder.

"This brought tears to my eyes this afternoon at the Pilot on Cumberland,"

part of the post reads.

"I videoed UT police officer R. Humble praying with and for this gentleman who is going through some tough times."

UTPD issued a statement about the video Thursday. "We are so proud to have Cpl. Humble as a member of our UTPD team. He saw an opportunity to serve the community in a special way," UTPD said.

The department commented that the officer is not looking for public recognition out of respect for the man involved.

The video has since been shared more than 420 times
