The city of Knoxville announced Thursday that one of the bridges connecting South Knoxville to downtown will be closed for about a month while a water line is installed.
The closure will begin Monday, Oct. 30 and will include a closure of Council Place.
Charles Blalock and Sons will be installing a water line between East Blount Avenue and Council Place as part of the Blount Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project, according to a news release.
Vehicles and Knoxville Area Transit's Route 40 will be detoured across Henley Street Bridge. While the bridge and Council Place is closed there will be two-way traffic on the section of Sevier Avenue that is normally one-way, according to the release.
