Gatlinburg Makes List Of Top Places To Visit For Fourth Of July Celebrations

 Gatlinburg landed on Travel+Leisure's list of top places to visit for 4th of July celebrations.

With 14,000 firework displays and an estimated 24.5 million pounds of explosives detonated in 2016, Travel+Leisure made a list of the best places to visit in the U.S. for 4th of July celebrations in 2017.

Travel+Leisure named 16 U.S. cities, and Gatlinburg placed 15. Nashville also placed on the list at number 13.

Gatlinburg's parade, the 42nd Annual Gatlinburg Fourth of July Midnight Parade, begins at 12:01 a.m. on July 4. 80,000-100,000 spectators are expected to attend.

Starting at noon, a race of unmanned floatables, the River Raft Regatta, begins with prizes for winners in multiple categories.

A free concert by the 100th Army Band begins at 8:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
New Orleans, Louisiana

Washington, D.C.
Nashville, Tennessee
Williamsburg, Virginia
