Two Arrested Over Weekend For Two Overdoses In Seymour

Two people were arrested and one person was charged Saturday after two overdoses were reported at a house in Seymour.

According to Sevier County sheriff's deputies, the reports of the overdoses were made at around 2:39 a.m. and 4:53 a.m. Saturday at a home at 806 Carter Street.

Investigators reported to local news outlets Monday that deputies got a warrant to search a home in the Eagle Den Subdivision and arrested a man and a woman upon their arrival.

Joshua H. Coleman, 31, from Sevierville was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Daniel E. Smallwood, 34, was charged with possession of schedule IV narcotic with intent to resale, possession of schedule VI (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal simulation. Amy L. Grizzle, 28, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Knox County. Officers said other charges are pending.

Both overdose victims were taken to Knoxville area hospitals where they are listed in critical condition. Investigators reported that they both most likely overdosed on heroin.

After a search warrant for the home at 806 Carter Street was executed, the Sevier County Street Crimes Unit and Sevier County Special Operations Team found two people living in the home, Xanax,Clonazepam, marijuana, three weapons, counterfeit money, and substances believed to be heroin and methamphetamine. Officials said other drug paraphernalia items in the house indicated that the drugs were being packaged and sold out of the house.

The investigation is continuing by local and federal authorities.

Investigators told Local 8 News deputies got a warrant to search a home in the Eagle Den Subdivision and arrested a man and a woman upon their arrival.

Deputies said the two who overdosed have been hospitalized, and an investigation is ongoing.
