Emma, William top baby names for Tennessee

Tennessee's Department of Health released its list of the most popular names for babies born in the state in 2018.

Emma reclaimed the title as the top spot for names of baby girls in Tennessee after briefly being defeated by Ava last year. The other girls' names in the top 10 were Olivia, Harper, Amelia, Charlotte, Isabella, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Abigail.

William was once again the most popular name for boys. It is followed by Liam, Elijah, Noah, Jackson, Mason, Grayson, John and Oliver.

William has been the top baby boy in Tennessee name since 2007.

Baby names are recorded and tallied by the state Department of Health Division of Vital Records and Statistics.
