FAA reviewing proposal for airport in Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) - The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority is working toward developing a small airport in another East Tennessee community.

After studies and planning, a site has been found in Oak Ridge.

The proposed site is at the Heritage Center Industrial Park located along the Oak Ridge Turnpike.

We're told the proposed facility will help revitalize the industrial park and is expected to bring in jobs and visitors from across the country.

Airport officials say they are currently waiting for the Federal Aviation Administration to review their proposal.
