Former Finance Firm Employee Arrested, Charged in TBI Theft Case

LAFAYETTE – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a former employee of a Macon County finance firm accused of abusing her position to steal customer loan payments.

At the request of 15^th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson, TBI Agents began investigating Serena Swindle (DOB: 4-1-78) in March of 2019. During the investigation, Agents developed information Swindle stole customer payments totaling approximately $51,000. She resigned when the allegations surfaced.

On Monday, the Macon County Grand Jury returned an indictment, charging the Macon County woman with one count of Theft over $10,000. Agents arrested her today and booked her into the Macon County Jail on $3,500 bond.
