Milling scheduled for Baskins Creek Bypass, Bishop Lane and Newton Lane

GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Work to begin resurfacing three streets within Gatlinburg will begin on Monday, August 8.

Crews will be on site milling Baskins Creek Bypass, Bishop Lane and Newton Lane beginning Monday morning and anticipate finishing their work by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 9. Milling work will occur between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in order to accommodate school traffic near the Pi Beta Phi Elementary School campus.

Paving for these three roads is expected to begin shortly thereafter and a schedule will be announced when it is available. Motorists will still be able to access the roadways and no lanes will be closed, but are asked to cautiously travel these roads and obey all signals from flaggers directing traffic.

The City urges motorists to exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone to protect the safety of the workers.
