Parks & Rec Holds Public Meetings on Proposals


The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department is holding public meetings to get feedback from residents about two proposed projects for which it is seeking grant funding.

Holston River Park Bicycle Skills Course

Meeting:


Thursday, March 19, 2026, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Williams Creek Golf Course, 2351 Dandridge Ave.

Proposal: To partner with the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club in the development of a new multi-level bike skills course into the existing Holston River Park. The site would eventually host youth mountain bike camps and training sessions and provide expanded recreation opportunities in East Knoxville.

Proposal: To partner with Tennessee RiverLine on a project to improve and connect the Gov. Ned McWherter/Riverside Landing Park and Suttree Landing Park properties with amenities that expand access to the Tennessee River for recreation and restore native riparian habitat while connecting river users with non-motorized boating access across the river:
