SEYMOUR, Tenn. (WVLT)-- An apartment building in Seymour is a total loss after a fire early Wednesday morning, according to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.
The 9-unit building at 547 S. Old Sevierville Pike had flames coming from the roof when the first fire crews arrived on scene. Residents from that building and the two nearby buildings were evacuated.
Seymour Volunteer Fire Dept. Assistant Chief Aaron Keck said crews had some trouble supplying water when they got on the scene.
"We had trouble getting a water supply set up. We're over 1,000 feet from a hydrant," Keck said. "We have around 1,300 feet of hose on the ground at this time."
The fire department says one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Sheriff's Department assisted in evacuating the buildings. Crews are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
